The Journal:
Courage, dear heart.
As someone who has journaled for most of my life, I am finally jumping off into writing a blog for other people to read. This whole idea has been terrifying for me, but I think it’s time. Time to put away the fear and step into this new chapter.
I’ve been a reader of C. S. Lewis since I was in college and find encouragement, challenge, and joy in rereading his works each year - especially The Chronicles of Narnia. In The Voyage of the Dawntreader, I find hope at the end of someday reaching Aslan’s country. In The Horse & His Boy, I find comfort as Aslan reminds Shasta that he has never been alone. And as Aslan so kindly speaks to Lucy in Prince Caspian, I find courage. Courage to step out and move into this new chapter.
So, here’s to being courageous!
Journal Entries:
Courage, dear heart.
“He is faithful. He is walking beside me. And with the peaceful calm that is always present in His voice He is saying, ‘Have courage, dear heart.’”
Fresh Starts
“As my sweet Mom always reminded me, “You never use up all of God’s mercy. He has a new batch every day.””
Thankfulness
“I want to live a life of gratitude. I want to remember every day how blessed I am. How faithful God has been. How thoughtful my Father God displays His love for me in both big and small ways. God is so good.”
